Adnyamathanha culture like many other Aboriginal cultures, is a Matriarchal culture. We follow our mothers birth lines. This painting pays respects to the women in our lives, our mothers, grandmothers, aunties, daughters, sisters, and cousins. When thinking about these strong women in my life, I think of the knowledge, strength, power, and love, and I think of how our matriarchs are our teachers, grounders, carers and our leaders.
